SFUMC Nursery

Children of all ages are welcome in our worship services, but child care is provided for infants and preschoolers at both the 8:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services. Children's church, is provided for elementary ages during both services as well. Elementary children are released during the worship service before the message. We encourage you to trust your children to our dedicated and loving workers.

The nursery is only accessible at our check in station. This entry is located at the read, side door of the building on the east side parking lot. It is the exit that contains the handicap ramp that's directly in front of the rear parking lot and playground. Once you enter that door, the nursery suite is on your right.

We require check-in for our younger children to enter the nursery area. We use a system called KidCheck. You can get more information about their product at kidcheck.com. You can set up your free and easy KidCheck account before you arrive. This will greatly simplify your check-in process and ensure your child's safety. Once you arrive, you'll enter your phone number that you used to set up the account. Select your child and enter the events that you will be attending. Then a label will be produced for the child listing allergies and pick-up instructions. You will also receive a receipt with a matching and child-specific, alpha numeric code. When returning, you will match the code with the code on your child's name badge. This code will be used to ensure you or a designated gaurdian are the only ones who can pick up your child.

In addition, our nursery rooms are equipped with cameras. Should you wish to "look in" on your child during their care, please see a church staff person who can assist you in viewing the feed. We take your children's safety very seriously!

SFUMC Children

We love our children's ministry here at SFUMC. Children and youth are an integral part of all facets of our church life. We welcome their presence, enjoy their enjoy, and encourage them to express their faith right along side of us adults. We are blessed with a large and vibrant program, but there is always room for more.

Join the children on Sundays mornings during Sunday school, Sunday nights for J.A.M. (Jesus and Me), and Wednesday nights for more educational and missional opportunities.

Also know that your children's safety is of paramount importance to us. That's why we have a "Safe Spaces" policy. All of our children and youth volunteers undergo a background screening process. Each room is staffed with two volunteers at all times. If you'd like to request a copy of this policy, you may do so in the church office.

Should you wish to discover more about our children's ministry please email the church office or check out our latest newsletters and bulletins.

Sunday Gatherings:

Those serving in our Student Ministry on Sundays get the opportunity to build and foster relationships with students, ministering them through the teaching of Scripture, worship and intentional discipleship.

Midweek Gatherings:

Student Ministries also meet together for Worship and Small Groups. We start the evening together in worship through song and a message, specially crafted for middle and high school students, then break into small groups designated by gender and grade.

Music

Our adult choir meets every Wednesday night at 7:00 in the choir room to prepare for our 11:00 AM morning worship service. If you wish to find out more about participating in the choir, please contact our choir director, Mary Ann Walker.

Our children's ministry performs multiple musical performances a year. They work on those musicals during the school year on Wednesday nights. They also have a handbell choir. If you'd like more information about how your children can participate in these music ministries, please email our children's director, Emily Walker.

Our youth praise team has recently started and is growing. If you'd like more information on this opportunity please email our youth director, Zack Smith.

Our early service is a blended service. That means we incorporate both traditional hymns and more modern praise music. If you have the gifts and graces to help our praise team and would like information on joining the group, please email the church office.
